Wind Power - A Need Of The Time

We, the consumers of energy, can only hope the recently concluded Wind Power 2009 Conference & Exhibition will bring positive results. The potential of wind power is there, we all know that. It’s the government that has to support the development of the wind industry. There is an urgent need to recognize that fossil fuel is going to deplete eventually. We also know that the fossil fuel mafia can hold the world to ransom any time they choose too. Only recently, oil prices crossed $100 per barrel and the world faced a major economic and energy crisis. Wind and solar power must be harnessed and used to their full potential. I feel it is the powerful lobby of the oil cartel that has been hampering the growth of alternate energy sources. It’s time to break out of these shackles, and put all our energies into developing alternate energy sources. Harnessing wind energy and creating wind power farms will also help boost the economy. The wind industry, given the right incentives will create jobs, trigger new industries and start an entirely new cycle of development. I personally feel that the wind industry must be encouraged and expanded to help overcome energy shortage. We hope that the conclusions of the conference will not just gather dust in some file, but will be a stepping stone in harnessing wind power.
